Murky water

Not forgetting to mention, we realized the water is very murky as the river deposits clay and silts. Hence we are not able to observe the animals in the water. Nevertheless, we enjoyed this trip very much.

Our conclusion:

Like we mentioned in the beginning, mangrove forests are found mainly in area experiencing the tropical climate (between 23.5°N and S of the equator), especially along sheltered coastal regions.

Most of us do not have mangroves in our home countries as we experience a different type of climate. For example, Almas Alwani comes from Madrid, the capital city of Spain. Madrid is located at 40°24′N of the Equator and experiences the Continental Mediterranean climate. In Madrid, there are no mangrove forests and she is very amazed with what she saw in the Sungei Buloh Wetland Reserve.

We all agreed that Sungei Buloh Wetland Reserve is a wonderful mangrove area. In addition, we are certainly pleased to learn so much from this trip. Last but not least, we sincerely felt that Singaporeans should cherish and take extra care of this natural vegetation.

Lastly, a group photo..

Ciao! :D
